The Frog Card

It's a crazy busy weekend- my baby boy is GRADUATING from 5th grade and my mom is coming into town for the graduation! My son will be going into middle school.... I can't believe how time has flown! I really wanted to post something so I thought I would post a card that I had made a card for one of my best friends a month or so back.  She calls her hubby her Frog (I think because he REALLY is her prince charming :D) but I had this stamp set (Unfrogettable) which is retired from Stampin' Up! and just HAD to make it for her!

I had die cut the blue "card" with a Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Album, Accordion #2 (I cut off the piece that you attach to another to make it an accordion album.) I cut the green/cream diamond patterned paper in a square and used a corner rounder. Glued it to the card base. I stamped the frog and the sentiment with black Momento ink. I colored the frog in with glaze pens by Sakura . I cut the frog out with scissors. I punched out a heart and circle.

I cut a pie piece shape out of the green circle so it would resemble a lily pad. I then scored lines to show the "veins" of the leaf and sanded it to show the "veins" more clearly. I glued the lily pad down, then the heart, then the flower and button. I used pop dots under the top half of the frog to give the frog a 3-d effect, I added some twine and wrapped it around the card front three times and tied a knot. PRESTO!! We have the card :D

I really enjoyed making this card. I was pleased how it came out and my friend really enjoyed it as well. I hope you enjoy this project and I would love to hear your feed back!

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

COPIC COLORING with JENNIE BLACK

I took an AMAZING class at www.scrapbookingmadesimple.net in Canyon Country, California a few weeks back... Stacey the owner is AWESOME as are all of the lovely ladies that work there. They are ALWAYS willing to help!  I feel like I am family there.. The kind you DO want around LOL...The instructor was Jennie Black (http://jenniebstampin.blogspot.com/) who is UHHHHHHH-MAY-ZING! LOL I have done some copic coloring in the past-took a few classes but never really had the AH HA moment that I would ever be able to do any of it good enough to even post... UNTIL JENNIE!!  She is an awesome instructor and really has passion for the art of copic and what can be done... She really WANTS you to LEARN the right way and is always open to any suggestions, questions or additional teaching moments she isn't aware of.... I colored this in her class... The Stamp is from Northwoods, Rubber Stamps, Inc 2011 (I can't read who designed it cuz the writing is illegible on the stamp) The design (coloring, shading and everything else COOL) is all by Jennie Black. The only thing I can take credit for is coloring it due to her UHHHHHHHHH-MAY-ZING instructions!!! If you are EVER able to take a class at www.scrapbookingmadesimple.net by http://jenniebstampin.blogspot.com/, it is worth it!!!  RUN DO NOT WALK and sign up for some classes.... YOU WILL BE REALLY GLAD YOU DID!! Happy Thursday!!!!!!!!!

The Milkman

A friend of mine asked me to create a card for her sister's birthday. A running joke in their family was she was the "milkman's kid" because she didn't resemble the rest of her siblings... So as a joke, I was asked to create a birthday card that had to do with a milkman because it was going to be sent with a note saying that her father wants to wish her a happy birthday.... I used my cricut with the cartridges Everyday Paper Dolls & Paper Doll Dress Up and a copic marker and liner and this is what I came up with.  Have a wonderful Wednesday and happy crafting!!!!
